About East End Foods PLC
East End Food was founded in 1972 and has grown to be one of the largest importers, sellers and distributors of Asian food in the United Kingdom. It employs more than 320 people over 2 huge commercial sites in the Birmingham area (Smethwick and Aston), with car parking for hundreds of clients, delivery drivers and visitors.
The West Midlands is a good strategic point to operate from and East End Foods’ Smethwick HQ has lorries moving over 200 tonnes of produce every day, which includes exporting goods across the globe.
So as you can imagine, they had some significant security requirements, which we were happy to provide solutions for.
DVSS installed and maintained FAAC 640 barriers (the right solution for large industrial accesses, with particularly demanding use) integrated with Vide X audio video door entry and a built in Access Control Keypad. This enables East End Foods’ staff to manage traffic in and out of the site more efficiently. For example, delivery drivers can report in at the point of entry and can then be directed to the correct location immediately.
The system has made things much more secure as well as being more convenient, as East End Foods’ own drivers and staff can use their pass or pin number to enter the site.
We also installed a Hikvision HD CCTV system across the site. This operates at real time speed with both fixed and PTZ cameras, so operators can track and monitor both staff and visitor activities for their protection, thus providing a higher quality of service.
